Grandmother’s Applesauce Cake

The recipe for this delicious cake came from a vintage cookbook which was a collection of recipes compiled by the women of our local church where I grew up in North Dakota. Handed down from one generation to the next, this compilation of time-tested dishes and desserts has been preserved in a restored volume that belonged to my mother. In fact, many of the recipes included in the cookbook were supplied by my own family members, including my grandmother’s applesauce cake.
