My Vintage Story

It all begins with, “Let’s…”

I have been donning vintage attire for many years. I enjoy the styles and the uniqueness of it all, but most of all, it just feels like home. By living the vintage lifestyle, I feel as though mine is a three-fold mission: being a trustee of the precious past, providing an opportunity for others to appreciate the beauty of things from by-gone eras and helping people learn lessons from the wisdom of yesteryear.

The “vintage” style includes authentic, reproduction or “upcycled” apparel. Costumed in this mode, I have attended all sorts of events, receiving such warm reactions from the very inception of this practice, that I extended my foray into the vintage world to every conceivable part of daily life.

Imagine yourself on Ladies’ Day at Ascot...or stepping onto the Orient Express train in Paris...

Now envision, going in customary vintage style to venues that are closer to home:

  • your local garden tour or flower show

  • antique and collectible show

  • historic play or stage production

  • local parade or vintage car event

How festive would it be to attend the open house of your local historic mansion - every city has one - wearing a period gown, adorned with pearls and lace, and a hat lush with feathers!

I have done all of this, and you can, too! You can create your own special moments, make a fabulous memory for yourself and friends, and make a photo book of your vintage passions.

You need 3 things:

  • an event--local, national, even international

  • vintage-looking outfit (we can show you how to do that inexpensively!)

  • inspiration, attitude

(Once you get used to "going vintage," you will no longer need a special event--just going for coffee is reason enough!)

And it all begins with, “Let’s…”
